The island of Madagascar is located about 360 kilometres east of Africa in the Indian Ocean and it is so isolated that there had evolved many unique animals and plants. The fourth-largest in the world, this island covers 587 000 square kilometres and has a surreal natural beauty and unique flora and fauna. It belongs to one of 20 Malay-Indonesian groups and there are 16 million people. The people of Madagascar are quite isolated from the rest of the world, except in the capital Antananarivo, but that city is full of business people that come from all sides. The whole nature in Madagascar is different from the rest part of the world. The relief of Madagascar is mostly mountainous with a centre that reaches a height of 2,900 meters above sea level.
